COMMENTS
FROM CITIZENS
Residents of Hunting Creek asked for consideration of a new lighted map
sign for the Hunting Creek Subdivision. The present sign is old and peeling
and doesn’t show up well. Mayor Falk said the City is in the process of having
a new City map made including all the new streets, and as soon as the new
map is done we will use that as a model for new signs for the subdivisions.
This should be done by fall. Chris Aponte from the Harrods Creek Fire Department
stated that the fire department had aerial and digitized maps of the City
that were available.
FINANCIAL
REPORT
There was no financial report available due to the transition of the City’s
bookkeeping system to a CPA firm, Chilton and Medley, which is in the process
of setting up accounts and computerizing the process.
POLICE
REPORT
Chief Nugent presented the monthly police report. Chief Nugent said that
Officer Terry Butrum was on board and going through training and also the
department was testing for an additional officer. Otherwise, nothing significant
to report.
UNFINISHED
BUSINESS
There was no unfinished business.
NEW
BUSINESS
Council Member Simon wanted to state that the 4th of July Celebration
was a huge success and thanked everyone that contributed. He especially thanked
the Mayor and other members of the City administration, the City Council members
and the members of the Police Department for the excellent crowd and traffic
control. Council Member Milliman congratulated Council Member Simon on the
success of the 4th and for all his hard work in organizing the event and that
he was largely responsible for making it so successful.
Council Member Simon also said there had been inquiries about the “No Parking” signs being permanent near the Don Cowley Open Space during the 4th of July. He wanted to assure the residents that they were only temporary during the event.
Mayor Falk pointed out an Agreed Order between the City State’s Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Cabinet in the council member’s packets. He asked them to go over this in-process document and to direct any questions to the CityAttorney.
ADJOURNMENT
Council Member Milliman moved adjournment; Council Member Simon seconded;
passed unanimously. Mayor Falk declared the meeting adjourned at 7:34 p.m.
