Mayor Falk called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m.
APPROVAL
OF MINUTES:
Council Member Smith moved approval of the minutes of the regular
City Council Meeting of September 14, 1998; Council Member Burse seconded;
passed unanimously.
COMMENTS
FROM RESIDENTS:
There were no comments from residents. Mayor Falk announced that Marty
Carney, Glenn Price et al. would not be here and would present
plans next month for the Wolf Pen Branch Road and U.S. 42 Development.
FINANCIAL
REPORT
Mayor Falk presented the financial reports for the 1997-1998 year
ending June 30, 1998. Subsequent months will be ready for the next meeting.
POLICE
REPORT
Sgt. Larry Johnson presented the police report for Acting Chief Lt.
Mike Day who was absent because of a death in the family. Sgt. Johnson
introduced our new officer Troy Cammack. Council Member Simon asked about
the fire off Wolf Pen Branch Road. Chris Aponte from the Harrods Creek
Fire Department explained that a deck holding about 50 people collapsed
and that several were injured.

BUSINESS
Council Member Simon gave FIRST READING, ORDINANCE NO. 382, SERIES
1998: AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO THE CITY OF PROSPECT, KENTUCKY CERTAIN
TRACTS OF LAND CONTIGUOUS TO THE CITY BOUNDARY.
Council Member Smith gave FIRST READING, ORDINANCE NO. 383, SERIES 1998, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING 157.40 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PROSPECT RELATING TO PROHIBITED SIGNS.
Mayor Falk made a brief announcement that Winn-Dixie was anticipating signing a new 15 year lease and is going to do a $500,000 renovation. Also, Dairy Mart is planning a $600,000 renovation and at some time will probably be closed for about 2-3 weeks. Both will be done in the near future.
